Dandelion Dreams

I have always been attracted to the pale brownish white dry florets of the dandelion. In our terrace, my dad has grown a turf. Mostly during summer in the midst of the grass and the button roses, these tall shoots stand up with glory. For a long time, I imagined that straw comes from its dried stem. As a kid, I used to love blowing the dandelion puff, making a wish. It was my summer fantasy. These swaying dandelions are all about memory and remembrance.

This was a beautiful post literarily, I loved it. I have followed your blog because I think it’s so good!!! I would love it if you had a look at my blog; I’m a very passionate teenage blogger but I’m quite new and really need the support! Thank you so much // Jeani xxx www.jeanithoughts.blogspot.co.uk

  11. Blowing dandelions, gathering bluebells and holding buttercups under chins are all part of children discovering the world and interacting with it. What beautiful recollections this brought back for me.

  15. Dandelions ... my first encounter was in the cartoon movie Beauty and the Beast when Belle sings in the field and picks a dandelion. It looked beautiful then ... but the fairytale has long ended and seeing one in my garden now means I need to call weed control LOL

  16. Lovely haiku. ^_^ I love the photo as well. The simplicity of the composition and neutral palette work well to give it impact and at the same time a feeling of nostalgia. The dandelion itself seems a thing of whimsy and dreams. Brief, fleeting yet powerful and beautiful. Looking forward to more of your works. :)
